JOB DESCRIPTIONS:
81. SMP WELDER
Department : Mechanical Maintenance and Workshop No. Of Vacancy : 10 Salary : US$ 2462 – 2900 / month
The desired candidate must have a minimum 3 years experience in the following: a. EOT Crane / Jib Crane Mechanical Maintenance (Overhauling & Major Repair)b. Inspection & maintenance of EOT Cranes for Steel plant / Heavy duty application as Technician / Fitterc. Assembly and overhauling of heavy/light duty machinery including rotary equipments, Electric Motors, Hydraulic and Pneumatic equipmentsd. Knowledge & skill of hand finishing, marking, drilling, tapping, torquing, reading Engg. Drawings and understand limits, fits and tolerancee. Knowledge of Mechanical Tools & tackles & rigging of heavy equipmentf. Knowledge of Mechanical Machines, Tools & tackles and their application
Also,
proficiency in English language and I.T.I. (NCTVT) certificate
in Welding or equivalent with Technical Training from reputed
Institute/Industry is a must. 1. Ability to take site measurements, perform marking, making templates, grinding, ability to use common machines e.g. hydraulic press, jacks, plate and pipe bending and shearing machines etc.2. Fabrication and major repair activities during planned shutdown as well as breakdown of all related equipment and facilities in the Steel Melting Plant3. Integrated Steel Plant Mechanical Maintenance (Fabrication and Structural repair)4. Knowledge and use of dye penetrate test for crack identification 5. Knowledge of various types of welding (Arc welding, Gas welding, Brazing and stainless steel welding) and gas cutting6. Selection of electrodes, preheating and post heating of work piece, weld joint preparation and other related welding aspects

82. WELDER MH
Department : Mechanical Maintenance and Workshop No. Of Vacancy : 1 Salary : US$ 2462 – 2900 / month
The desired candidate should have 2 years experience working in a related field and has knowledge in the following: 1. Integrated Steel Plant Mechanical Maintenance (Fabrication & Structural repair)2. Fabrication and major repair activities during planned shutdown as well as breakdown of all related equipment and facilities in the Material handling area3. Ability to take site measurements, perform marking, making templates, grinding, ability to use common machines e.g. hydraulic press, jacks, plate & pipe bending & shearing machines etc.4. Ability to do millwright job & knowledge of assembly and overhauling of mechanical equipment.5. 83 AUTOMATION ENGINEERS DRP [PHASE 3]
Department : Phase 3 Job Location : Sohar, Oman No. Of Vacancy : 2 Salary : US$ 4054 – 5539 / month
The desired candidate must have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a related field, and must have knowledge in the following: 1. Ensure system availability by maintaining level 2 system hardware and software2. Ensure proper functioning of Steel Melting Plant Level 2 functions as listed but not limited to:a. Level-1 interface monitoring and diagnostics b. Models & Services (Problems recovering, Performance monitoring and parameter tuning, back-up and recovery) c. Oracle Database (System monitoring and optimization, Security administration, Data analysis, back-up and recovery)
3. DRP
Level 2 Modules: Ensure proper functioning of DRP Level 2
functions as listed but not limited to: 4. Fully conversant with WinCC HMI and SCADA package • In-depth knowledge of MS Visual C, Delphi, Visual Basic software programming and Oracle Database developer and administrator • Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software • Ensure system availability by maintaining level 2 system hardware and software
Also, Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical / Electronics / Instrumentation Engineering is a must.
The deployment schedule of this position is May/June 2010 and will be based in Sohar, Oman.
84. CONVEYOR OPERATOR [PHASE 3]

The desired candidate must have a minimum of 3 years experience in the following: 1. Steel industry as Stacker/Hooper/Conveyor operator2. Safety aspects of conveyors, hoppers and stackers3. Equipments and controls

85. ENGINEER CONDITION MONITORING (MH + DR) [PHASE 3]

Infrared system, FILR P65 Camera4. Bently Nevada Online Systems, CSI, Onsite Balancing system, Laser Alignment systems, CMMS, SAP System, and KARL-STORZ ENDOSKOPE System
Also, any of the following degrees is a must: a. HND High National Diplomab. BS Bachelor of Engineering Degreec. Master of Engineering Degreed. PHD of engineering

86. ENGINEERS - ELECTRICAL [PHASE 3]

The desired candidate must have a minimum of 4 years working experience in a related field, and must have knowledge in the following: 1. Review daily electrical maintenance work orders and classify them into corrective or preventive maintenance categories2. Study all electrical maintenance requests and prioritizes them in order of importance3. Prepare daily management reports based upon analysis of previous day’s activities4. Assist Head of section in ensuring proper spare parts management5. Fully conversant with HYL Direct Reduction process6. In-depth knowledge of Level 1 Automation systems related to DRP process7. Experience on maintenance of processing equipment (Medium Voltage Substations, Transformers, Switchgears, PLCs, Drives, Motors etc.)8. Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software

Knowledge on start ups and shutdowns and emergency handling.3. Experience in Siemens / Honeywell / yokogawa control system operations4. P & ID, PFD knowledge Control of process parameters within the set limits, awareness of interlocks and safety matrix, logic diagrams5. Total Industrial experience
